Belton International Horse Trials attracts loyal visitors each year who come along to enjoy the extensive shopping opportunities, many and varied competitions and wide variety of attractions for all the family within the delightful surroundings of the National Trust’s Belton Estate set in the very heart of Lincolnshire.
We would like to make your visit to Belton a memorable and happy occasion and offer the following tips and information to help…
There is a wide variety of food and drink on offer across the event site. In addition to our very popular food court, there will be an ‘Artisan’ food area where you will be able to purchase a wide variety of food and drink including examples of European cuisine and good from local producers.
Parking & Traffic
Access to the event is through the Lion Gate at Belton (NG31 9SQ). Parking is all on-site and there is no additional parking charge. Please be patient at peak times and if you wish to exit the site before 2pm you will need to wait for incoming traffic to be halted, as the Lion Gate is single track. We do our best to keep traffic flowing at all times but please allow plenty of time to get into the site.
New for 2017 is our dedicated Members’ Area. There will be free tea and coffee, toilet facilities, and forward parking. Children are permitted to the Members’ Area free of charge when accompanied by an Adult Member.
If you haven’t yet experienced our Live Scoring system it has revolutionised the distribution of scores at Events. The Live Scoring system works alongside the Official Scorer to provide real-time scores to on-site electronic scoreboards and via the web for anyone at the event or unable to attend on the day (e.g. Owners, parents, partners or staff back at the yard.) Please click here for Belton 2017 scores.
For more information on Live Scoring please see http://eventscore.co.uk/
Lost Property and Children
Any lost children will be taken to the First Aid Station and looked after there until they can be reunited with their parents.
If you have lost any item during the event please go to the Event Office. After the event please call 01929 829061 to check for lost property. We retain lost property for two months.
If you find an item which doesn’t belong to you or anyone around you, please take it to the Event Office. The team will make their best effort to reunite it with the owner.
We encourage you to bring your four-legged friends to Belton with both ‘have a go’ dog agility and a family dog show running over the weekend.
Please ensure that dogs are kept on a short lead and under control at all times. Not only is it incredibly dangerous if your dog gets loose but Belton’s Cross Country Courses run through beautiful deer parkland. Any owners with dogs found to be off the lead will incur a penalty fine (donated to our chosen charity) and you may be asked to leave the site. Please ensure you clean up after your dogs.
Please DO NOT LEAVE DOGS IN CARS as they can quickly become distressed and overheated should the sun be out, even so early in the year. If a dog is found to be distressed in a car, efforts will be made to find the owner but we may need to take further action to release the dog.
With the aim at providing a safer environment at events there will be no motorised vehicles allowed on the event site, unless prior authorisation has been given by the event director. This includes, ATVs, motorbikes, motorised scooters, buggies and electric bikes etc. An exception for those used for disability can be made by prior permission of the organiser.
Only official vehicles will be allowed onto the cross country course. Visitors with mobility restrictions who would otherwise use motorised vehicles should contact the secretary’s office for information and assistance. Where possible alternative arrangements will be made for you to access event site.
We provide forward parking on production of a valid Blue Badge and also provide accessible toilet facilities. We try our best to accommodate all spectators and will try to accommodate any reasonable request. If you have any particular requirements or questions, please call the office on 01949 829061 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
